Privacy Policy

GoView · Viewfinder for GoPro · Effective August 19, 2026

GoView does not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal data. Period.

What the app does with data

Everything GoView does happens locally, on your own devices:

  • The app connects to your GoPro camera over Bluetooth and the camera’s own Wi-Fi access point to show a live preview and send control commands (record, stop, change mode).
  • Video frames travel directly from the camera to your iPhone and on to your Apple Watch. They are shown on screen and immediately discarded. Nothing is recorded, saved or uploaded by GoView.
  • Your camera’s Wi-Fi name and password are read from the camera itself and stored only in the secure Keychain on your iPhone, so you do not have to re-enter them. They never leave your device.

What the app does not do

  • No analytics, no trackers, no advertising identifiers.
  • No accounts, no sign-in, no cloud services.
  • No network requests to any server on the internet. The only network activity is with your camera and between your own iPhone and Apple Watch on the local link.
  • No data is shared with third parties. There is simply nothing to share.

Permissions the app asks for

  • Bluetooth: to discover and control your GoPro camera.
  • Local network: to stream the preview from your iPhone to your Apple Watch.
  • Wi-Fi network join: to connect your iPhone to the camera’s own access point. GoView never configures any other network.

Children

GoView collects no data from anyone, including children.
